This year will be extra special as we celebrate the inauguration of Dr. Travis Feezell as the 17th President of Hastings College on Friday, September 29. Check out the schedule below for more information (inauguration activities highlighted in RED). 

Homecoming and Family Weekend 2017 takes place Friday, September 29, through Sunday, October 1, and is filled with opportunities to honor our past, meet with friends and celebrate all things HC.

All Hastings College students, friends and guests are welcome to attend the inauguration of our 17th President, Dr. Travis Feezell. This ceremony will be held outside in the space between the Jackson Dinsdale Art Center and the Gray Center. (Rain location: French Memorial Chapel)

Daugherty Center
Starting with continental breakfast, this day is all about treating future Broncos as our VIPs! We encourage high school age student(s) to spend some time visiting with our admissions staff and learning more about becoming a Bronco. The “GO BRONCOS!” Visit Day includes VIP seating at the Melody Round-Up Parade, barbecue lunch, and tickets to the HC football, volleyball and soccer games. Downtown Hastings
Beginning at Eileen's Cookies in downtown Hastings, race participants will start the Melody Round-Up parade. Have you ever wanted to be the Grand Marshal for a parade? Here’s your chance! Race begins downtown and ends on campus. $25/person

The Melody Round-Up Parade is a true tradition, featuring area high school bands, antique cars, the 2017 Homecoming royalty, 2017 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees and the Hastings College Marching Bronco Band.

Meet friends, President Travis Feezell and his wife Carol as you enjoy some barbeque before heading to the football game. Don’t miss the children’s activities, and follow the marching band as it leads the crowd to Lloyd Wilson Field. Retired and current faculty members are encouraged to attend. ($10/adult, $5/ages 5-12, 4 and under free)

Homecoming Art Class: Printmaking

Jackson Dinsdale Art Center
Work with Turner McGehee, professor of art, in perfecting the traditional craft of printmaking and take home your very own print. Cost: $30/person. (limit 10 participants)

Osborne Family Sports Complex, Lloyd Wilson Field
Cheer on the Bronco Football team during the Homecoming game. Enjoy the Bronco Marching Band, Crimson Spirit dance team and Bronco cheerleaders. The 2017 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees and the 2017 Outstanding Alumni Award winner(s) will be recognized, and 2017 Homecoming royalty will be honored. The Bronco Bookstore will be on location at the game.

Homecoming Art Class: Cyanotype Photography

Jackson Dinsdale Art Center
Explore the craft of cyanotype photography with Brett Erickson, associate professor and sequence head for web communication design/photojournalism. Participants will create their own cyanotype print during the class. Cost: $30/person (limit 16 participants)

Join the Physical Education & Human Performance and Communication Studies departments for an Open House to showcase their new and renovated spaces. The Physical Education & Human Performance department now features an exercise science lab for hands-on learning. The Communication Studies department also includes a new home for the Hastings College Forensics team.
